Thirty-six years of keeping things running.

Merlin Computers has supported Malta's business community since 1990 — designing, deploying and supporting the IT environments that organisations depend on every day.

A trusted partner for Malta's businesses.

Merlin began as one of Malta's early structured IT solution providers, supporting businesses as they transitioned from standalone computing into fully networked environments. From the outset, the company focused not only on supplying technology, but on building reliable long-term partnerships through strong technical support, dependable service and practical business solutions.

As the company evolved, Merlin expanded beyond core IT infrastructure into specialist technologies including large-format printing, imaging solutions, business hardware and software solutions. Throughout its growth, Merlin consistently aligned itself with trusted international brands known for reliability, innovation and long-term value. Over the years, the company has represented established names such as Fujitsu, Microsoft, NetApp and Kaspersky, while more recently strengthening its portfolio with brands including ASUS, Olivetti, Wacebo Europe, Abintrax and others.

Merlin’s philosophy has always been centered around long-term relationships rather than short-term transactions. This approach led the company to build a strong reputation for after-sales support, technical expertise and customer care across both the private and public sectors. Today, Merlin supports a wide range of organisations including corporate enterprises, government entities, education providers and telecommunications operators.

The business now operates through four connected areas of expertise — Merlin IT, Merlin Print, Merlin Med and Merlin Software — allowing clients to benefit from specialised solutions delivered under one operational structure. Across every division, Merlin remains committed to the same core principles that shaped the company from the beginning: trusted partnerships, carefully selected technologies and ongoing support throughout the full lifecycle of every solution delivered.

To further demonstrate its commitment to quality and customer confidence, Merlin supplies its solutions with a comprehensive 5-year agreement covering both parts and labour — reinforcing the company’s belief in long-term reliability, accountability and service excellence.

Built for business. Backed for five years.

Every piece of hardware supplied by Merlin Computers is backed by a five-year warranty on parts and labour. It is the clearest statement of how the company thinks about technology — and about its relationship with the clients who rely on it.

Why five years

Because IT should be dependable, not replaced on short cycles.

The five-year promise reflects a simple conviction: that business technology should work reliably over the long term, that the relationship between supplier and customer should be measured in years rather than months, and that accountability for what is sold should not end when the invoice clears.

From hardware supplier to managed-services partner.

Merlin's trajectory mirrors the evolution of the Maltese IT industry itself — from stand-alone machines and early networks, through the consolidation of infrastructure, to the managed, cloud-connected environments of today.

1990 · Origins

A first-generation IT solution provider

Merlin was founded in the late 1980s, placing it among the first structured IT solution providers on the island. In its earliest years, the company focused on hardware supply, SME support services and enterprise infrastructure — at a time when Malta’s businesses were moving from basic computing into networked environments.

1992 · Diversification

Beyond IT — printing, imaging, specialist hardware

The partnership with Mutoh for large-format printing, in place since 1992, marked one of Merlin’s earliest moves into specialist hardware beyond core IT. It established a pattern that continues today — building long, exclusive relationships with carefully chosen international vendors, and supporting their products locally over the full lifecycle of the equipment.

1990s – 2000s · Growth

A reputation built on after-sales support

Through the 1990s and into the 2000s, Merlin developed a reputation for reliable after-sales support and long-term customer relationships, with a growing portfolio of servers, storage, networking and document-management solutions. Early brand partnerships included Fujitsu, Microsoft, NetApp and Kaspersky — each chosen on the same criteria that inform vendor decisions today.

2010s · Integration

Consulting, licensing and managed services under one roof

From the 2010s onwards the company consolidated its offer into a full solutions practice — combining consulting, infrastructure, licensing and managed services. The client base grew to include government entities, telecommunications operators and corporate employers, while brand partnerships expanded to take in ASUS, Olivetti, Wacebo Europe and others.

2020s · Today

Four sub-brands, one operational discipline

The business today operates across four connected sub-brands — IT, Print, Med and Software — each with a clear specialism, and each delivered with the same warranty commitment, the same people, and the same long-term view of what business technology is for. The relationships that defined Merlin’s first decades remain its foundation.

Four sub-brands. One operational standard.

Merlin Computers designs, deploys and supports IT environments for organisations that depend on their technology to operate. The work spans four specialisms — each with its own sub-brand, its own vendor partners, and its own client base.

01 · Navy

Merlin IT

Corporate IT support, Microsoft 365 and cloud services, server and virtualisation platforms, cybersecurity, and the managed services that keep these environments running day-to-day.

02 · Red

Merlin Print

Managed Print Services powered by Olivetti and PaperCut — secure pull-printing, proactive supply management, full cost visibility, and certified on-site service across corporate, financial and education environments.

03 · Navy

Merlin Med

Medical and education technology in partnership with Abintrax — purpose-built devices, clinical and educational workflows, and the specialist support these sectors require from the hardware that sits in front of patients and students.

04 · Aubergine

Merlin Software

Licensing, deployment and lifecycle management for the platforms Maltese businesses rely on — Microsoft 365 and Azure, Veeam backup, PRTG monitoring, SentinelOne endpoint protection — supplied, configured and optimised alongside the hardware they run on.

Alongside its direct services, Merlin offers leasing models that allow clients to access enterprise hardware and printing infrastructure without upfront capital outlay — including Managed Print Services powered by Olivetti and PaperCut, and Device-as-a-Service arrangements built around ASUS business hardware. Both are structured to bundle hardware, support and lifecycle management into a single predictable monthly cost.

Reliability and accountability.

What distinguishes Merlin is a focus on reliability and accountability — over the full lifecycle of the systems supplied, not only at the point of sale.

The team takes pride in being a partner clients can depend on — during the initial implementation, and across the years of operation that follow. Relationships are long. Decisions are practical. Performance is measured against the standards that matter to the customer, not against benchmarks chosen to make the supplier look good.

As the technology landscape continues to shift — through AI, cloud-first workplaces, evolving cyber threats, and the growing complexity of regulated industries — Merlin remains committed to helping Maltese organisations navigate that change with confidence, ensuring their infrastructure and systems are ready to support whatever comes next.

Merlin's leadership team combines deep local market knowledge with decades of commercial and technical experience across IT, distribution and managed services. The same people answer the phone, sign the proposals, and stand behind the five-year warranty.
